T W Y INC.

What is the name of your solution?

Improving People's Overall Health

Provide a one-line summary of your solution.

T W Y INC. helps to improve people's overall health through construction, environmental, humanitarian, and many other endeavors that help people.

What specific problem are you solving?

The Problems

  1. Physical Health

According to the hunger data from the California Association of Food Banks,

"Californians facing food insecurity: ~8 million
On average, 1 out of every 5 Californians does not know where their next
meal will come from — with greater levels of hunger experienced by Black
and Latinx families."

2. Mental Health

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic spread throughout the world and affected the San Francisco Bay Area. The San Francisco Bay Area was called the "Old Gold Mountain." This region used to be the hub of prosperity. Sadly, living conditions have drastically changed because of the wildfires, the recent pandemic, unemployment, high taxes, high cost of living, health conditions, substance abuse, and crime. For these reasons, California has a high poverty rate and homelessness.

Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic caused mental health problems throughout this region, the United States, and the world. According to the National Alliance on Mental Health in 2020, “1 in 5 experienced a mental illness. 1 in 20 experienced a serious mental illness. 1 in 15 experienced both a substance use disorder and mental illness. 12+ million had serious thoughts of suicide.”

People around the world experienced mental health problems as well. The World Health Organization, Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, and Global Health Data Exchange state that in 2020, “Approximately 280 million people in the world have depression. At its worst, depression can lead to suicide. Over 700,000 people die due to suicide every year. Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death in 15-29-year-olds.”

3. Environmental Health

On September 9, 2010, a pipeline exploded in San Bruno. The blast destroyed about 38 homes and killed eight people. T W Y INC. renovated a house in the disaster area and helped to revitalize that community.

In 2013, management recruited volunteers to clean up the beach in Half Moon Bay. Today, management continues construction and revitalization projects.

What is your solution?

T W Y INC. uses technology like Zoom calls, online chats, emails, videoconferencing, teleconferencing, social media, online publishing, and other technological advancements, and other positive ways to promote companies' objectives and to improve people's overall health.

The objectives of T W Y INC. include the following:

  1. To reduce unemployment, extreme poverty, and hunger by creating job opportunities and benefits for minority populations.
  2. To help underprivileged families and individuals through the collection of extra food, goods, clothes, and other excess items from civilians, nonprofits, and businesses to prevent surplus items from going to landfills. (These actions help needy people as well as the environment.)
  3. To participate in recycling, The Food Recovery Challenge, Zero Waste California, and other waste reduction programs.
  4. To raise awareness and capital for environmental, humanitarian, social, societal, and economic purposes.
  5. To revitalize, beautify, renovate, and clean up private and public places, such as homes, beaches, parks, schools, etc.
  6. To offer words of encouragement through positive messages to counter all the negative influences in this world.
  7. To pursue partnerships with multiple entities, such as individuals, families, foundations, nonprofits, and businesses in order to improve the world in which we live and to maximize positive outcomes.
  8. To develop relationships with diverse entities, which promotes teamwork, peace, harmony, unity, kindness, compassion, generosity, and diversity.
  9. To produce calendars, framed prints, posters, gift books, stationery, journals, magnets, plaques, greeting cards, and other novelty items in order to uplift others and remind them of their invaluable worth.
