Ruchit Nagar, 27, is the CEO and Co-founder of Khushi Baby, a global health technology non-profit. Ruchit is also a fourth-year medical student at Harvard Medical School and incoming internal medicine and pediatrics resident at Yale. Ruchit founded Khushi Baby out of a design course as an undergraduate at Yale, where he would also go onto complete his Master’s in Public Health. Ruchit has grown Khushi Baby to a 40-member full-time team, based in Udaipur, India, raising over 1.5M in funding. Khushi Baby has developed digital health solutions for tracking maternal and child health at the last mile and for COVID-19 active surveillance. Ruchit led a 3200-mother randomized controlled trial of Khushi Baby’s RCH platform, which showed a 1.66x improvement in infant immunization rates and 0.26x decrease in infant malnutrition. Together both solutions have been used by over 50,000 health workers to follow the health of over 14M individuals at the household level in India’s largest state, Rajasthan. Ruchit has led Khushi Baby to become the Nodal Technical Support Partner for the Government of Rajasthan’s Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, where he has also served as an advisor to the Health Secretary on the COVID-19 response. The Khushi Baby platform has also received approval for scale-up from the Central Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with 2.4M USD in funding committed. For his efforts to deliver scalable public health impact, Ruchit has been recognized as a Forbes 30 under 30 leader in Health Care and by the Yale School of Public Health as a distinguished Young Alumnus.
