Cristina Bernardo Kullberg

Co-Founder and President, Open Dreams

The tenth child of Cuban American immigrants, Cristina Bernardo Kullberg is very passionate about the power of education, social entrepreneurship, and women to change systems and communities. She currently serves as the Co-Founder of Open Dreams, a nonprofit she started alongside LSE alumni Blaise Buma. Since 2015, Open Dreams has helped over 200 high achieving, low income students from Cameroon find and secure scholarships to leading universities all over the world including Oxford, McGill, Harvard, and more. They also offer Women's LeadHERShip Coaching, assisting women leaders and entrepreneurs to find their inner strength to create the change they want to see in their communities. Previously, Cristina served as the Executive Director of Emzingo|U, an award winning leadership development and social impact B-Corp that runs leadership programs in Peru, Brazil, South Africa, Spain, and the US. In 2016, Cristina had the great honor to serve President Obama at the USDA, focusing on community and economic development in the most marginalized rural and tribal communities in the US. She received her MSc in the Political Economy of Late Development from the London School of Economics and a BA in International Politics and Business at UNC Chapel Hill.
